Election Post Mortem

The health freedom vote had few places to go yesterday. The lesson of 2020-2 was that yes, health freedom does matter, if we don't want our lives to be taken over by Big Pharma - the lockdowns, mask rules, suppressed cures, etc., all to pave the way for the genetic vaccines, which were an unmitigated disaster, as has been proven over and over.
National treasure Rod Humphris confronts Keir Starmer at his pub in 2021.
Cui bono? The very worst of the predatory capitalist class, who enriched themselves in billions of dollars. Who lost? Workers, small business owners, and all who were harmed, disabled, or killed by the genetic vaccines and more.
And the faux left parties backed all of this in a virtue signalling contest.
Then the monkey pox scare, the WHO attempted power-grab, and the ongoing bird flu story. Millions of people figured out what the game was, and became politically homeless.
So let's hope Tedros doesn't push the "Pandemic" button in the next term, with an even more compliant and censorious Labour party in power.
Keir Starmer calls for strict censorship of so-called anti-vaxxers in 2021.
Reform made some mistakes up to Jan 2021 in what they campaigned for, but shortly thereafter they got it, and they were the ONLY major party to get it1. Many people in the UK switched to Reform on this account, and of course for managed immigration instead of open borders.
End result: the Tories hemorrhaged votes to Reform, and lost also to the Lib Dems. In 2019, Labour had 32.1% of the votes and were wiped out. In 2024 they have 33.8% of the votes and a super majority. A swing in their favour of less than 2% is hardly a mandate for the super-majority they now have.
Reform came 2nd in 98 seats, but that counts for nothing in our First Past The Post system. They got 14% of the vote, but less than 1% of the seats, whereas Labour got 34% of the votes - little more than double, but got over 100 times the number of seats.2
Labour's super-majority is an artifact of the FPTP system. Neither has their leader done spectacularly in his seat of Horton and St. Pancras. In 2019 he won 36,641 votes. Yesterday, 18,884 votes. A clear majority, but the votes cast in his favour almost halved.
On the plus side, Reform have a few people in Parliament, just a few, but enough to mix things up. They came second in 98 seats - 98! This is a success they can build on in future.
And if people like health freedom, but not Reform - please show me any other party that stands to any meaningful degree for health freedom.
